API keys & base URL
Every API key belongs to a group. The group decides which provider (Claude / OpenAI / Gemini) and which models the key can access — all endpoint families then share the same key.
Create a key and bind a group
- Open the API Keys page in the developer console (https://platform.apixly.ai).
- Click “Create API Key”, enter a name and select a Group — choose the group whose platform matches the API you want to call.
- Save, then copy the generated key (it is shown only once).
- A key with no group cannot be used — click the Group column in the key list to assign one at any time.
Match the endpoint to the key's group
Each group is labelled with its platform (Claude / OpenAI / Gemini). Call the endpoint family that matches the label; otherwise requests are rejected.
| Key group platform | Base URL | Typical endpoint |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | https://apixly.ai | POST /v1/chat/completions |
| Claude | https://apixly.ai | POST /v1/messages |
| Gemini | https://apixly.ai | POST /v1beta/models/{model}:generateContent |
Keep your key safe
Treat API keys like passwords: keep them server-side, never in client-side code or public repositories. Actions taken with your key count as your account's actions.
If a key leaks, disable it in the console immediately and create a new one. You can also set quotas and expiry dates per key in the console to limit blast radius.
Model discovery and API pricing
GET /v1/models lists model IDs reachable by your key. GET /v1/models/list adds effective USD pricing_options, group priority and pricing_scope=api_key; priority 0 is the first bound group. Do not treat public catalog prices as your personalized invoice.
