Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-15
This Privacy Policy explains how apixly ("we", "us", the Service at apixly.ai) collects, uses, stores and protects your information when you use our AI chat, image and video tools. It should be read together with our Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who We Are
apixly.ai is an AI studio where you can chat with AI models, generate images and video, and use an API gateway for developers. Your account and billing are operated through the apixly platform. What information we handle, and why, is described in the sections below.
2. Information We Collect
Account and gateway data. When you sign in through apixly, we store the information needed to run the Service and its API gateway — including your account id, your Credits balance, and the API keys you create for gateway access. Your password is stored only in hashed form and is never accessible to us in plain text.
Content you create. Your chat messages, prompts, uploaded files and the images and video you generate are stored so we can show your history and creation library.
Technical, usage and security data. We process information such as your IP address, approximate region, browser and device type, language preference, the cookies needed to keep you signed in, and usage, billing and security signals (including request metadata, risk and abuse signals, and audit logs) used to run, secure and bill the Service.
Please do not submit highly sensitive information — such as government identifiers, full payment card numbers, health records, passwords or other credentials, or personal data you are not authorised to share — unless it is genuinely necessary and you have the required permissions.
3. How We Use Your Information
To authenticate you and provide the chat, image and video features you request.
To save and sync your conversation history and creation library across your devices.
To process usage and billing through the apixly platform and to send you service-related notifications.
To operate, secure and improve the Service — including to maintain reliability and quality, detect and prevent fraud, abuse, chargebacks and security incidents, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal, regulatory, tax and law-enforcement obligations.
We may also process and retain de-identified or aggregated data — which no longer identifies you — for analytics, capacity planning, safety and service improvement, and may keep such anonymised data indefinitely.
4. AI Processing and Model Providers
To generate responses, images and video, the prompts and content you submit are sent to the apixly gateway and forwarded to the underlying AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google) that fulfil your request. For text chat, the gateway keeps only usage metadata — such as the model used, token counts, cost and timestamp — and does not store the content of your messages or the model's replies. For image and video generation, we keep your prompt and result on our servers to sync them across your devices and show them back to you in your creation library; this server-side copy is deleted within a short period, while the original stays on your device. The providers that process your requests do so under their own terms.
Model training. By default, we do not use your chat messages, API request content or generated results to train our own general-purpose models. This default does not restrict processing that is necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, prevent abuse of, bill and improve the Service, nor the use of de-identified or aggregated data. We may also depart from the default where you opt in, where a separate written agreement with you allows it, or where permitted by applicable law. We will not silently repurpose your content to train general-purpose models in a way that identifies you.
5. How We Store Your Data
Your conversations are stored so that you can see your own chat history and continue it across your devices; they are linked to your apixly account, kept separate from billing, and you can delete any conversation — or all of them — at any time. Generated images and video are stored on your device first, for instant, offline, full-quality access; a compressed copy is kept on our servers only as a backup and for multi-device sync, and is deleted from our servers within a short period.
6. Data Retention
We retain different kinds of data for different periods, and only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law:
Account profile: kept while your account is active; anonymised or deleted after account closure, except where retention is legally required.
Conversations and creation library: kept until you delete them or close your account; you can delete individual conversations or media at any time, and server-side copies of generated media are deleted within a short period (see Section 5).
API key and token metadata, security and audit logs: kept as needed for security, abuse prevention, audit and dispute handling.
Request logs and troubleshooting data: kept for limited periods or in aggregated form under our internal retention schedules.
Billing, top-up, invoice and risk-control records: kept as required by tax, accounting, contract and financial-compliance law.
When your account is closed, its API keys can no longer be used and your profile is anonymised or deleted in due course. Account deletion does not mean every record is physically erased at once: billing, payment, risk-control and security audit records may be retained for their legally required periods, and are no longer visible in the product.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies, for example to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference, and cookies and similar technologies needed to secure the Service and prevent abuse. We do not use cookies to sell your data to advertisers.
8. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only on a least-necessary basis with the categories of providers needed to run the Service: the apixly platform for identity and billing; cloud infrastructure and hosting providers; payment providers (we do not store your full payment card details); email and notification providers; security, anti-abuse and logging providers; the AI model providers that fulfil your requests; and legal, audit and compliance advisors where necessary.
We require service providers to process data only within the scope of their engagement and with appropriate confidentiality and security measures. We may also disclose information where required by law or legal process, to enforce our Terms, to detect, prevent or address fraud, abuse or security issues, to protect our rights, users or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
9. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls and regular review, and your account password is stored only in hashed form. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to notify you where required if an incident occurs.
We also apply data minimisation and design the Service to avoid writing your prompts, generated content or API keys into public error messages, debug output or analytics.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. Some identity and billing rights are handled through the apixly platform.
To protect the Service and other users, we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and — where permitted by law — we may decline, limit or delay a request that is unfounded, excessive, affects others' rights, or concerns data we are required or permitted to retain.
11. Children
The Service is not intended for children under the age required by law in your country (generally 13, or higher where applicable). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. International Transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located in other countries. Where we transfer data across borders, we take steps to keep it protected in line with this policy and applicable law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service.
Material updates are published as a new version of this policy and, where appropriate, may require you to accept them again before you continue using the Service.
14. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, contact us at [email protected].
