Reliable AI API access: routing, failures and production checks
Apixly focuses on stable AI API integration through one gateway, account routing and explicit failure handling. Choose a model and service group for your workload, then verify completed responses and billing under realistic conditions.
Updated:
Account routing and bounded recovery
The gateway selects eligible upstream accounts for the requested group and model. Supported request paths can switch accounts after eligible upstream failures, within bounded retry rules. Capacity, provider quotas and the selected group still matter; switching accounts cannot make an unavailable model available.
Do not treat a discount group and another service group as interchangeable. Check the live catalog and test the exact route you plan to use. If your application needs its own fallback policy, make the decision explicit and preserve the model and request requirements.
Failures you can handle
The integration docs describe authentication failures, insufficient balance, rate limits, concurrency limits and unavailable upstream capacity. Parse the error envelope for the endpoint family you use. Respect Retry-After where returned, bound retries and record request identifiers for support.
Images and videos use asynchronous jobs. Poll to the documented terminal state, inspect failure codes and download the completed output while its temporary URL remains available. Avoid blindly resubmitting a paid job after a network timeout: first reconcile the original task.
A production acceptance checklist
Measure completed-response rate, time to first token, full-response latency and billed cost for the exact model, group, context size and concurrency. Test streaming completion, tool results and media downloads where your product needs them. Keep failed requests in the sample; HTTP 200 or a health endpoint cannot prove usable output.
Start with a small workload and monitor it before increasing traffic. Apixly provides integration documentation and support at [email protected]. No public uptime percentage or service-level commitment is asserted here; consult the terms or a separate written agreement for contractual requirements.
Questions & answers
Does a low API price prove the service is stable?
No. Price and reliability are different measurements. Validate the same route with completed responses, latency, failure handling and billing for your workload.
How should I investigate a failed media job?
Keep the task ID, endpoint, model and terminal error code. Check the documented failure type and reconcile task state before deciding whether to retry. Share those details with support, without exposing your API key.
